Tonight we decided to participate in Sharon Johnson's Friday Stamp Simply Challenge. You can play along too.
Here are Sharon Rule's for this Stamp Simply Challenge #80:
Keyword ssnotime80 - There is no time limit. You can play this challenge and upload your project at Splitcoast and/or your Blog, anytime at all! You (and that means anyone and everyone, blogger or not!) can play as many times as you like!!! The point is to keep it simple, quick and have fun!!! Please link your project at Sharon's Blog Post here. If you decide to use a JustRite Product in your card add a coma and a second keyword JustRite and your project will appear in both galleries.
Let’s Forget the Rules! Do you remember when we were kids (at least when I was a kid!!) we were taught not to mix patterns when we dress ourselves. I guess styles must have been rather bland back then — LOL!!! We would never wear a plaid skirt (remember those red wool plaid skirts?) with a printed blouse, or a striped jumper with a polka dotted blouse. We just DID NOT do it back them!!! Oh, but look at the fun we have today with patterned paper — Mix and Match — anything goes!!! And I love it!!! So today we are going to use EITHER stripes or dots and mix them with any other print or pattern you so desire! Or use the stripes and dots together if you like. You may use patterned paper or you may stamp your prints/patterns. Just make sure you use EITHER stripes or dots, or both!!! I LOVE both stripes and dots. And today you get bonus points if you can use 3 different prints together!!! Forget those old rules, let loose and have fun!!!
You can view all the great samples that were made by the Stamp Simply Design Team by visiting Sharon's Blog and following the links to all the team members.
For our card we used the AccucCut Card & Mat Circle Die to die cut our WorldWin Treasures™ cardstock-TR 1201 Crimson Red or the A2 Card and My Minds Eye- Penny Lane Paper Feeling Groovy Paper Pack for the Mat Circle.
Next we chose a 1 5/8” border and center stamp from the 10 Designer Centers and Borders and gently snapped the pieces into the grid of our 1 5/8” stamper. We inked the image with Pumpkin Spice Versamagic Ink and stamped it on white cardstock. Die cut your stamped image using die 3 from your small Circle Nestabilities™ (Count your dies starting with the center die). Then we used Red Magic ink to scuff the edges of your stamped image.
To create our flower mat we die cut a scalloped circle from the Striped Feeling Groovy Paper using the die 3 from Scalloped Circles set 3. Using scissors we cut inward toward the center in the valleys of the scallop to create a flower mat for the stamped image. We used the Red Magic Ink again to scuff the edges of the petals to give the flower more depth. Then we assembled the flower as shown in photo above.
We trimmed the front of the card by using the Martha Stewart Scalloped Dot Punch to make a border and then add Ribbon and Prima Flowers.
