Today we are introducing JB 08760 Christmas Treasures:
For this design I combined my Spellbinders Octagon Nestabilities Dies with my Circle Dies to create the fun layering. I also used a Krylon Gold Leafing Pen to edge each layer of matting to give my card more depth. The interior image was stamped and embossed using Ranger Super Fine Detail Gold Embossing Powder.
This set is designed to fit our 3 1/4" stamper. Here are the first projects from our design team using this set.

The Christmas Cardinal Card is designed by Kathy Jones. For more details visit her blog.

These next two cards were designed by Sharon Johnson. Isn't it fun to see how differntly two designers use the same set.

I love how Sharon used the center the Most Wonderful Time of the Year with the labels One Spellbinder's die. Thanks Sharon for reminding us that just because the stamp is designed as a circle doesn't mean we need to die cut it as a circle.
Stop back in tomorrow to see our second Christmas Set designed for our 3 1/4" Stamper.

Keep us in mind....."When it needs to be JustRite".

Love the new Christmas stamps!

My favorite childhood memory is of Christmas Eve at my paternal grandparents' house. As the only grandchildren, we were spoiled rotten, which is always important as a kid. The presents were always piled to the top of the Christmas tree, and my grandfather would brag that the local paper had come to take a picture of his tree. Of course, that never happened, but we always believed him!

My favorite Xmas memory is the year my sister and I got up(made our beds and got dressed.......it was my mothers new "thing" that year)........going downstairs and finding out it was 3 AM and having to go back to bed. We SLEPT IN Christmas morning because of this. This is still talked about in the family as one of the funniest Xmas morning stories

My favorite childhood christmas was when I got a chrissy doll. You pushed on her belly and pulled her hair and it got lomg. Turned the knob on her back and it got short again.

Or going to my grandparents hoise and playing with the trains around the tree.

My favorite memory is that the first Saturday of December we would have a tree-trimming party and we kids could invite two friends each. It was then that all the decorating was done by all the kids before a wonderful junk food fest!

My favorite childhood Christmas Memory is discovering where my parents had hidden all of our gifts. We always made some excuse to go into the basement and see if we could peek into our fruit cellar to see any gifts. Funny it was only locked during the holiday.

thanks much

My favorite childhood memory is that when I was small we would go to my grandparents on Christmas Eve. Santa would always make a stop and bring candy canes and remind us that good little boys and girls needed to be in bed early. ;-)

I luv, luv, luv these new stamps for Christmas!

My fav memory was waking up in the middle of the night & peaking through my door to see my dad putting my doll house together! Well I guess Santa had the parents put the toys together, the elves must have been on strike that year...hahaha!!!

When I was really little (Back when my parents used to be together) We always went to my Aunts house on christmas. My Aunt would buy all of us cousins matching outfits and make us stand there for pictures. (boy young kids under ten really hate posing for pictures!) One christmas I must have been like five or six, I refused to wear the dress she bought for me! My other cousins had one their matching black, brown, and red suits and dresses! Not me I showed up wearing a baby blue dress with a scotti dog pin! My Aunt was really upset my parents let me wear my own dress, but I sure do look happy in the pictures!

debb said...

Oh these are just beautiful! Childhood memories... my favorite Christmas memory is getting to open one present each on Christmas eve and of course, it was always our matching Christmas PJ's! debb

My favorite memory of Christmas was joining my grandparents, parents, aunt and some adopted family after church generally at my aunt and uncle's for this enormous feast and then at 3:00 pm we would open gifts that had been left there for us. I still remember the tree my aunt would decorate with the bubbling tree lights.

These were very special times as all of my family has passed on but those memories always linger with me each year.

A gorgeous set and cards!! There are so many things I remember about Christmas when I was a kid. It was my favourite time of year. I think the one that always comes to mind is our tradition of my mom, my sisters and I snuggling up in our blankets and watching Little Women each Christmas Eve. Such fun!

Anemone said...

My favourite childhood Christmas memory is how our parents stretched Christmas out the whole month. Dec. 1st the tree & decorations went up, including our mini stockings. Every morning from then until the 24th, we had something small in our stocking. A funky new eraser, a lollipop, small stuff - but fun nonetheless.

Chrystal said...

Getting the house ready. It would take my mom 2 days to get all the decorating "JustRite". Then it was followed by a week or two of baking. The house wasn't ready until it had all those yummy christmas smells.

Love these stamps and all your products.

I just loved that both my grandparents lived close to one another so we got to celebrate with all our family over Christmas Eve and Christmas Day with all the cousins.

I wish my kids would have the same feeling but we have moved away from all our family and have decided that this year we are not traveling so the kids can be at their home on Christmas morning.

What a beautiful set. I can't wait to see the rest.

My favorite memory is the Christmas when we were going to Grandma's house early Christmas morning. In order to save time on Christmas morning, Santa Claus came just after we went to bed on Christmas Eve. I had asked for a wind up baby doll that played a lullaby. Santa remembered!!!

Blessings,

One of my favorite memories is, we were always allowed to open one gift on Christmas Eve. It was ALWAYS pajamas ! LOL

Now I've carried out that tradition with my kids and they finally figured out that it would be pajamas and they're still excited! Can't wait to see what kind of jammies they get each year !

Thanks for the chance, I love me some JustRite!

My favorite childhood memory of xmas eve was caroling! We lived on a farm in a small, very small town...we would ride into town with Mom and Dad and my brothers and sisters would sing from house to house for about an hour or so...we did this for 3 or 4 years in a row until we moved. :)

My favourite Christmas memory was having family & friends over after the midnight Christmas Eve service for a huge buffet dinner. It was always a wonderful family time.

My favorite Christmas memory is opening our Christmas stockings. Our stockings were made by my mom and were specific to each child. Sometimes our best present was in our stocking. I have carried on that tradition with my kids.

Lyn S said...

My favourite Christmas memory is as a child on Christmas Eve, we would put our Christmas stockings on the end of our bed and wake up at the crack of dawn to see what Santa had left in them. We always had to wait for our parents to get up before we could open the presents under the tree, but the stocking was the most fun!

Michelle said...

These are great!

My favorite Christmas Memory is linked to a tradition my mom started when I was little and that I have continued with my own children. Being military (dad and DH are military) we usually found ourselves far away from family. Every Christmas Season we would bake a TON of cookies to give away to our friends. We used recipes from grandmothers and my mom's collection. I still used those recipes today with my own children (DS's now 17 and 15). Christmas isn't Christmas without the smell of cookies! Last year we baked about 2000+.

My favorite moment of Christmas though is sitting in the church right before midnight mass begins and you hear Carols softly playing in the background.. lights are dim and the altar is filled with candlelight.. I get a deep sense of peace at that moment and let myself lose the troubles of my year and surround myself with the beauty and reason for the season. I can't imagine Christmas without it.

My favorite childhood memory is Christmas eve night with the build up and excitment of what was to come in the morning. It was so hard to sleep because I always hope that I would hear Santa. Ha the good times.

One of my memories is going to the paternal grandparents on Christmas Eve. On the way home we would go past a home that was decorated to the max. This was 55 years ago and people did not decorate like they do now so this house was very special. I don't get back to my hometown very often but when I do and I get near this house I am flooded by memories of Christmas Eve as a child.

My favorite childhood memory was when I was in 4th grade and got my St. Mary's Missal prayer book for Christmas. I came down stairs after everyone had gone to sleep and opended the package that was the missal. I was good at knowing what was in the packages. I wrapped it back up and went back up stairs and acted so happy and suprised the next morning (which I was).

One of my most favorite childhood memories is of Christmas Eve. All of the father's in our neighborhood worked hard to turn a field into our very own iceskating rink. We lived in Michigan. On early Xmas Eve they build a bombfire and served us hot apple cider and donuts while they sat around the fire and enjoyed wathing up. Around 10 pm we would take off our skates and go Christmas caroling in the neighborhood ending just in time to go to midnight mass. What a wonderful neighborhood I lived in! MichelleK

My favorite Christmas memories are really the build up to Christmas day - ours was a big family with 8 children and my Dad loved Christmas. He did the cake decorating, Mum baked. He used to decorate the tree with us all helping. The year he decided no Christmas crackers (bon bons) was a memorable one he made a huge cracker and filled it with all kinds of toys and games we all got to dip into. It's not the same without him.

My favorite childhood memory is the year that my brother and I tried to sneak into the living room to see what Santa had brought us. Of course, my mom caught us before we could get to the living room, so we said we were thirsty and she escorted us to the kitchen for a drink of water. Great memories!

My favorite childhood memory would have to be the Christmas we had a Charlie Brown Christmas Tree. I was about 10 years old and my mom was a single parent and totally stressed out about not having something for my brother & I. We decided we didn't need a tree as long as we had each other. My mom said every child needs a Christmas Tree even if it is a small one so our next door neighbor had a Charlie Brown Tree that she was going to dig up so we cut the tree as out Christmas Tree and strung popcorn and made paper decorations, we had one present each but that will always be the Christmas I remember as we spent the night doing things as a family.

Looking forward to the Christmas stamps! I read all these sweet stories and realize all my Christmases just kind of blend together. But, back in 2004, my husband was in Iraq and it was the first Christmas the kids and I had ever spent without him. We did Christmas morning over the webcam. (Thank goodness for technology!) Makes you realize what the important gifts really are.

Christmas means family, so of course my favorite memories are Christmas Eve at my grandparent's house. My grandma would cook a really big feast, all the cousins would get together, and we would have quality family time together. Now that my grandparents have passed away, we try to keep up the tradition by getting together on Christmas Eve at my aunt's house with all the cousins, their kids, and extended family.

My favorite childhood memory was when my brother and sisters and I tried to sneak downstairs to see what Santa had brought us. There was one step that squeeked and we tried to avoid stepping in the middle. Someone missed and the step squeeked. My mom heard it and told us to come back upstairs until she could get the movie camera set up. It was so hard to wait to see what we had gotten.

My favourite childhood memory was we would always have to go bed right after supper on Christmas Eve, because we needed to get some sleep before we went to Midnight Mass. Then after mass, we came home and were allowed to open 1 gift under the tree. Talk about having a hard time sitting through the mass. It is good thinking back about those old memories.

It's the most wonderful time of the year!
My favorite Christmas story is: Right after WWII bikes were hard to come by. Mom was able to get two for brother and I. Unfortunately the bike store put the bikes in the show window maked sold and our name on it. Ofcourse we were excited to tell Mom who said there must be some mistake. Christmas morn arrived and NO bikes. After breakfast Mom asked us to go to the basement to get something and lo and behold there were the bikes.....Mom had made it such a wonderful surprise after all...

What a beautiful stamp set. I could not even begin to choose a favorite Christmas memory. They were always fun and memorable. One great thing: we lived near a highway which eventually led to an air force base (50 miles). There were always soldiers hitch-hiking during the holidays and just about every holiday we would have one or some in our home for meals. I should add: I am old and that was a time when hitch-hiking was not as it is thought of today.

It's great fun reading about other peoples memories of Christmas. I remember one year when the thing I wanted most (a set of plastic food from Sears or Penneys) was not under the tree. I was sorely disappointed until the plastic food set miraculously was delivered days later to our garage!

I love Christmas Eve and Christmas day because all my family would be together. I have 5 brothers and 2 sisters and there were about 18 grandkids for my Mom and Dad then. We always opened gifts on Christmas Eve from the family and on Christmas morning was Santa gifts. There were so many of us that we all could not fit in one room so we rotated from the living room to the kitchen out to the porch to cool down and then back thru again! It was so much fun and I really miss all the noise and the excitement! I remember one Christmas Eve we were shooting off fireworks and knocked the fuse out of the box and shut all the electricity in the house off.

When I was 5 years old, I was chosen to recite a little Christmas poem at our church concert. Naturally, I was all excited about it until the time came for me to step forward and begin. I just stood in line, not moving. Finally, one of the other kids pushed me forward and I just stood there once again, silent. My parents were in the audience, of course, and I will always remember my Dad standing up, clapping and yelling "Come on, honey, you can do it!" And I did.

He gave me courage which set the tone in my life and I will always love him for that.

My favorite childhood memory is of Christmas Eve. When I was 12 y/o my mother passed in childbirth leaving me as the oldest and 4 younger bro./sisters including a newborn. My Dad asked me if I would skip high school and help raise them and told me I could pick out the Christmas gifts for them which was so neat and I wondered what I would get. When we came home from Midnight Mass the gifts were under the tree and lo and behold, there was a turquoise sweater that I really, really wanted but Dad told me we couldn't afford it earlier. I couldn't believe he did that for me because he had so much to think about raising us five kids alone.

When I was quite small, it was always an anxious wait to get to Gramma & Grampa's house where the presents literally FILLED their living room! One of my cousins was so excited that he ran & jumped right into the middle of all the wrapped gifts!

Then when I was older and we had moved from our homestate, my favorite Christmas memory was receiving a sun-tanning Barbie & trying her out on our porch. We had moved from Ohio to Colorado, so the climate was very different. And we have pictures of me in short-sleeves on Christmas Day! That would never happen in Ohio!!!

My favorite childhood memory is my moms cooking. She had everything you could dream of wanting for Christmas dinner. Everyone came to our home for her cooking. We did not have a lot of money so there were not a lot of presents, but her dinner was always the topic of conversation. My mother has Alzheimer's now and we no longer have the Christmas dinner. My mother has 5 daughters and we never learned to cook like her. We always thought we had time to learn. I will always miss my mother's Christmas dinner.

My favorite is the year my brothers (several years older and wiser) helped me listen for Santa. When I went to the door to check there was my baby doll with a suitcase full of clothes. I knew it was Santa cause he was so quiet!

My favorite memory is when we didn't get a Christmas tree for whatever reason. My mom went out into the pasture, got a huge tumbleweed and painted it silver. We set it on a table and decorated it with our ornaments! ☺

I've had many wonderful Christmas memories but one that stands out was the year my son brought his family home to meet me for the first time while he was in the Army. I met my daughter-in-law and her two little boys. My son took on the roll of being a father to the boys and now they have a daughter that's 12 going on 18. I love my family and having grandchildren. They've been together close to 15 years now. He's the only child I have and I treasure spending Christmas with him and the rest of our family.
Sorry for the long post...

The new Christmas stamps are lovely! As far as my favorite Christmas memory, that would be the year that my older daughter, Lisa, was about 8 yrs. old. From the time she was about 3 she had wanted to become a teacher and that goal never wavered - she's now the principal of our town's high school. Anyway, that Christmas my husband & I wrapped up a huge box of school supplies and a huge free- standing blackboard. We can still 'hear' her loud screams of excitement!!

My favorite Xmas memory was the year we shopped for months to help my aunt and uncle and their 3 kids have a great holiday. It was in the late 70's and a lot of people were laid off and times were hard. That was the year I really understood the true meaning of Christmas.

Deepa M. said...

I don't have any relatives around except for my immediate family, so we would swap presents with a family who lived nearby every year right around Christmas. My favorite part of that was all the cookies and treats my "aunt" baked :)

What an awesome set! I love the cards, too.

My favorite childhood memory is that we had a tradition of reading the Christmas story from the bible every Christmas eve. Afterward we would pop popcorn and sing Christmas carols. I've continued that tradition with my own husband and children.

I fondly remember laying under our fake white tree, watching it change colors from blue to red to yellow to green.

My favorite childhood memory is staying up on Christmas Eve to attend church at midnight. We'd sit by the fire and read 'Twas the Night before Christmas and then get all dressed up for church. Of course, I don't remember much of church because I usually fell asleep!

I loved Christmas as a kid for sooooo many reasons. We were lucky enough to spend Christmas Eve and Christmas Day with all of our grandparents--on the way home Christmas Eve we would drive around an look at the lights while we froze our hinders off in the backseat of my Grampy's car....Good time!

Love the cards. My favorite Christmas memory is being in the Christmas Eve Pagent at Church, getting our goodie boxes, after church we always came home for a short time, to pick up gifts for my grandparent. We had to stay in the care, while our parents went into the house. We then went down to my grandparents for Christmas Eve gifts and Christmas cookies. When we arrive back home. Santa had arrived when we were gone. Eventhough, my parents were farmers, our Christmas never went without gifts and our Charlie Browne Christmas Tree.

Beautiful cards!

My favorite Christmas memory was when my father played Santa. I went up to him and sat on his lap. I noticed he had a bandage on his index finger and pointed out to him, "My Daddy has a boo- boo on his finger too, JUST like that!" Every year my family reminds me of this Christmas Eve moment:)

My favorite Christmas memory is getting together with my cousins, aunt and uncle, all together with my family, at my Grandma's house. We had to wait until all the dishes were cleaned and put away after Christmas dinner before we could open any presents, so my oldest brother would hide one dish or glass, just to tease the younger kids. Eventually we would find the last item and then FINALLY be able to open our presents. It's a fun memory.

My favorite childhood memory is the one Christmas that my father took my sisters and I to chop down our tree. The branches still had snow on them.

As a child I never had the chance to celebrate Christmas due to religious upbringings. The first year I was married to my husband we went out a tree farm and cut down my very first tree. It was so exciting. I also got to purchase all the tree decorations. That was my first memory of Christmas and one of my favorites.

My favorite childhood memory of Christmas was going to our friends' home for Christmas dinner and all these people laughing and sharing stories...it was my first time I had ever seen a real Christmas tree. The smell in the house was so yummy...and the presents weren't so bad either! LOL!!

My favorite childhood memory of Christmas was the year that we flew to Spain to celebrate with my mother's family. Growing up in the States with no extended family meant that Christmas was just the four of us--my dad, mom, and sister. The holidays were the times that I wished the most for cousins, aunts, uncles, grandparents, etc. That one Christmas I got my wish. I still remember the night we spent at my mom's small village watching the Three Wise Men arrive at the plaza on real live camels. I was awestruck.

My favourite Christmas memory was sitting and watching cars go by our house just waiting for my sister and her family to pull into the driveway. She lived a long distance away. We would only see her 2 times a year. One of those times was to come and spend the holidays with us. When they arrived was when Christmas officially began.

My favorite memory is after having "caught on" to us kids one Christmas sneaking peeks at our gifts, the following year my parents labeled each childs gifts with another childs name. I had snuck a peek at one of my presents and was getting a GI Joe as a boyfriend for my Barbie. On Christmas morning we were told before we opened any gifts to turn the tags over and pass the gift to the name on the reverse side. After turning the tag over, GI Joe it turns out was for my brother. I do recall borrowing Joe to take Barbie out on a few dates to make Ken jealous.

Thank you for the chance at the candy and can't wait to see the designers works.

My favorite childhood memory is when my sister and I shared my bedroom one Christmas Eve and we could not go to sleep and we talked and talked and ate chocolate candy...that might be why we could not go to sleep. She is six years younger than me. I told her I heard Santa's bells...I think she believed it.

My favorite childhood Christmas memory is waking up early on Christmas morning, and the first thing I saw was my Daddy's US Navy uniform stretched over an old straight back wooden chair, with hat hanging on the chair post, as close to the Christmas tree as he could get it, and facing my little bed - this was during World War II and he managed an off-base pass & hitch-hicked ride home at the last minute, from Peru IN to TN. I was about 4 yrs of age and had cried myself to sleep the night before as Momma read the letter received that day saying he would not be home for Christmas - our first without him! Only in a child's world and with the help of our Heavenly Father could one experience one night of such terrible sadness, and in a few hours the happiest day of one's life!

My fondest childhood memories are of waking up Christmas morning and seeing the tree (of course, it was brought and decorated by Santa) and all the presents under the tree. Christmas was always at Grandmas house with all my aunts, uncles, and cousins coming from afar so we always spent the night before Christmas there. All of the adults must have stayed up all night sneaking in that tree, cooking, and wrapping packages. Those memories will be cherished forever and never forgotten.

My favorite memory of Christmas as a child would have to be the traditions, waiting at Grandma's for the relatives who live the farthest to arrive, looking out the window, just waiting. Grandma and Mom in the kitchen, the guys in the living room watching tv and waiting, the presents under the tree, everyone together. Thanks for the chance to win! Beautiful set!

I don't know if I have a specific Christmas memory that is my favorite. I just remember spending every Christmas eve at my grandparents. My fav childhood memory is walking down to the pine plantation at the bottom of our family farm with my Dad, and he & I would look for the perfect pine branch that we could cut off to use for a Christmas tree in the Lounge Room. I remember the feel of the sticky sap on my hands and the beautiful smell that would soon fill the house. Even now when I smell pine, I relive those memories.

My favorite Christmas memory is from my childhood...the year that we thought it was a great idea to set up the Christmas tree on our screened-in front porch. It looked gorgeous as you drove up to our house. But...we had a white Christmas that year. And it was frigid on Christmas morning. We (my brother & sister & I) had to scurry out and bring in one gift at a time. We about froze our toes off, trying to see what Santa had brought :)

My favorite Christmas memory... wow there are so many! As a small child one year I decided I wanted so many presents that the pile would go all the way to the ceiling~ yes, I guess I was a greedy child. Anyway, we lived all year with very little but my parents sure did work to make Christmas special for us. Dad made me doll houses, baby doll furniture, etc and Christmas was just so magical because of that. So this one year, when I got up, there was one pile that went all the way to the ceiling... with my name on it! Now mind you... things like the dollar bill my Grampa gave me were wrapped in boxes inside of boxes, inside of boxes to be a HUGE box... and a dress was in a box the size of a TV... but the overwhelming fun of the presents will always make me smile!

To me Christmas always brings up memories of oranges and walnuts that were in our stockings. My parents had a bakery so the smell of cookies and fruitcakes was nothing really special. I helped glaze and wrap all the fruitcakes (over 100) and put a Christmas sticker and bow on top of each one. Aahhh....oranges and walnuts...that's Christmas! LOL

Sometimes awful things make great memories. As a kid, I used to always get a stomach bug right around Christmas. I remember one year in particular that my father was so proud of the biology set that he had got me for Christmas, he had me open it first. When I opened it the first thing I saw was the frog and crawfish in formaldihide. I yelled thanks and headed for the bathroom barfing all the way.....needless to say, it put guite a damper on the rest of the present openings by the family!!! But it remains one of my favorite memories!
