This week we are so excited and honored to have the talented Sankari Wegman.
Sankari is currently a member of The 2 sketches 4 You Design team, Taylored Expressions Design Team, and a guest designer from Verve Design Team. If you are not familar with Sankari's blog -- Sankari's Sunshine Corner - you will want to immediately add it to your google reader or subscribe to her feed!! Everyday when I read her blog I am amazed at what Sankari has designed to share! I was shocked when she told me during her interview that she had only been stamping for a 1 1/2!!
Let's get to know Sankari-
1. Tell us where you live. I live amongst the cornfields of south east Iowa.
2. Tell us about your family. I have 2 children ages 4 and 2. They both are mini teenagers and have lots of "personality" (lol!). My husband and I feel blessed every day with our two precious ones.

3. Tell us how long you have been stamping. I have been stamping for a year and half and its one of the best therapies ever! I love it whenever one is asleep and I have some "me" time at the end of the day :)
4. Tell us where you do your stamping. I stamp in the corner of our master bedroom. The plus side is that I can't be a pack rat and have to use up my papers, etc because I don't have space for a lot of storage. The downside is - well - its a corner! lol! One day, I would love to have four walls instead of 1 corner :)
5. Tell us what is your must have stamping tool. My favorite tool is the corner chomper (I love how it has the two sizes) and sometimes rounding out a corner just has such a nice feel to the card.
6. Tell us how long have you been blogging. I started blogging about a year and a half ago. It just started out as a hobby once in awhile, but soon I was playing along with some card challenges and it grew into an addiction! I started blogging the same time I started stamping and feel so blessed to have made such wonderful friendships with so many people in blogland!
7. Tell us who is currently your favorite paper company. I love using the Choice Buttercream and White cardstock from Taylored Expressions for coloring with my Copics. I love using the Prism cardstocks for all the different colors and some of my favorite designer paper are from Bo Bunny and My Minds Eye.
8. Tell us what are you currently addicted to: My favorite embellishment are liquid pearls - I love how the add texture and dimension to a card. It seems these days that every project has to have just a little bit of liquid pearls.

9. Tell us your favorite paper crafting season and why. I love Christmas and Valentine's day for paper crafting - the papers and stamps are so sweet and cute and make it so easy to create little gifts for the special people in our life to let them know how much they mean to us.
Good Morning Everyone,
Today I am so excited to be a guest designer for the Just Rite Stamp Company!
Good Morning Everyone,
Today I am so excited to be a guest designer for the Just Rite Stamp Company!
I absolutely love how easy it is to create your own custom monogram, or sentiment and how versatilte the stamps are and with what ease you can change the borders around to create different looks for your creative projects. I have a few fun projects this week using the Just Rite system and even a video, if I can figure out how to actually do it :) Today, I thought I would make a little gift set to give to my son's teacher at school using the Just Rite stamps: Something Sweet Borders and Centers Round 2 3/8".
I had a little "paint can" that needed altering - so I filled it with some yummy peppermints and then created a little border on the bottom and on the lid of the paint can - created the sentiment" sweet treats.
Here is a view of the top of the can: the little peppermint on the sentiment is popped up on dimensionals and then I added some liquid pearls along the edges:
For my card, I used Taylor's Friday sketch #91 and stamped the same sentiment for my card - but this time took out the border: "Have a Sweet Holiday." I love that you can change borders and mix it up - or not have them at all - it allows such flexibility in stamping.
I am so happy to have a little gift set ready to give my son's teacher! I love the circle borders and round sentiments and how easy they are to interchange and give different looks. I hope you enjoyed today's project and for tomorrow - I have some "oval" projects that I hope you will come back to see :)
Wishing you all a fantastic Monday and the start to a beautiful week!!!
Big sunny hugs!
Sankari :)
Card Ingredients:
Paper: Bo Bunny Christmas line and Choice White Cardstock from Taylored Expressions
Stamps: Something Sweet Borders and Centers Round 2 3/8".
Inks: Memento: Lady Bug Red and Color Box Chalk (brown) for sponging
Accessories: paint can from Stampendous, ribbon from stash, circle punches and circle cutting system from Creative Memories, corner chomper, liquid pearls (Adirondack), Stickles (frosted lace), snowflake punch from Martha Stewart, bling from Kaiser, Inkessentials Whtie gel pen and dimensionals.
Steps how to alter the Paint Can:
1. Stamp the sentiment: Sweet Treats with the border of your choice three times onto Choice White cardstock and then punch out with circle punch (1") (you can punch out the middle image and then pop it up over the second stamped sentiment and then cut out the peppermint (sponge it) and then pop it up over dimensionals on the peppermint on the sentiment.
2. Cut strips of paper of your choice to go along the bottom. I used Zip Dry (which dries clear) for application because it stays on really well - and it also dries clear - so you don't see the glue application on the inside (only a few dots of the Zip Dry) are needed).
3. Add snowflakes and rhinestones as you wish and embellish with ribbons and bling as you would like.
Steps how to create the card:
1. Fold and cut an A2 card (which is 5 1/2" by 4 1/4") and cut strips of designer paper that you would like on the card . Sponge edges of cardstock and designer paper, and round the corner of one side.
2. Stamp the sentiment (this time I took out the border) twice onto white cardstock and then cut out with circle punches of your choice (This time, punched it out with a 1 3/4" punch). and then punch out some larger circles to mat it on. Sponge the edges and cut out the peppermint on the sentiment (the sentiment was stamped twice) to put on dimensionals and pop up over the peppermint on the sentiment that was punched out.
3. Embellish with your favorite embellishments whether it is ribbon, bling, liquid pearls etc. :)
