Day Two with Barb Schram- Just A Note

When Barb got her Pre-inked basket for being a finalists in the JustRite Stampin' Champion Contest she fell in love with our pre-inked words and 2x Stampers. So it didn't surprise us when she decided to combine our Harmony Oval I Stamper border with a 2X Stamper. So let's get to Barb's instructions for how to make this beautiful project.

JUST A NOTE
Ten note cards and envelopes fit nicely in this clear box for a wonderful presentation! All set and ready for gift giving! My husband will gift this set to his secretary. Since most employees at his office are men, I made five notes with what would be a more suitable male color, dark green, and an orchid color that is definitely more feminine.

I started out by cutting my base colored cardstock, SU orchid opulence and PTI ripe avocado. Each 8 ½” x 11” sheet is cut into four 4 ¼” x 5 ½” pieces. The white PTI cardstock is cut into 4” x 5 ¼ pieces.

For stamping, I used two JustRite products, the Harmony Classic 1 3/8” x 2 1/8” Oval Stamper with a ring border only. What I love about the ring border I chose is you can color the image or leave it as is…either way looks fantastic. I felt like coloring, so I decided to use my Copic markers, V15 and G99 in this set. For the sentiment I utilized a JustRite self inked stamper, Just a Note. This was easy, easy and a crisp image every time! Check out the SALE going on right now at the JustRite store! The belly band is 1” in width with a strip of patterned paper to pick up the orchid color! I layered three flowers, punched two holes with my Crop a Dile so I could easily thread the ribbon and tie it off for the flower center.

I couldn’t leave without showing you this additional note, card where I was experimenting with several colors of Copics. I LOVE how this turned out, so colorful and like a stain glass effect of sorts. I definitely will be making more of these! I attached this note to Papertreyink Raspberry Fizz cardstock. Day One with Barb Schram -Time Capsule

We have so much to share with you this week that we will be posting twice a day. One post will be Barb's Inspiration from our current collection and one will be a CHA Sneak Peek. So don't forget to keep scrolling so you don't miss a JustRite Minute!!

Today Barb has a terrific project for us. What a fun family project. This week is full of tons of history making events. How fun would it be to create this Terrific 2009 Time Capsule with your kids. Recording the Headlines of the year, the price of gas, milk and bread..etc. This is also an amazing gift for a new mom...as Always Barb - we love how you think outside of the box or in this case how you created a fun inside the box project!!

MEMORY CAPSULE
Treasuring the memories, or in this case, canning the memories! Our daughter is due with her first child, our first grandchild in a couple weeks! His name is Kaylub and I created this special memory capsule for him with his Mom in mind. The 6" in height and 3" in diameter can is covered with animal paper by Cosmo Cricket, which is perfect because Kaylub’s nursery is full of animal friends!


Lid - I lined the lid top with the flip side of my Cosmo paper, to match the top and bottom outer edging of the can. My Circle Stamper II, complete with star designer border and “enjoy” center was used to stamp once with red and once with yellow ink onto cream cardstock. I die cut, embossed, and popped the outer circle, added two round punched layers with the yellow circle popped with foam tape.






Name - 50pt. Times New Roman font spells Kaylub, which is attached on top of the word enjoy. Hemp is knotted with ends taped under outer stamped circle. All circle edges are shaded with inked dauber. Now, I don’t know about you…but I think I will be hard pressed to find anything printed with the name Kaylub on it! And I certainly don’t want to spend my time searching and searching! So as long as I have my JustRite fonts and stampers, I’m good to go! Kaylub will have all the personalized items he needs! LOL! That is just another plus of the JustRite fonts; you can create ANY words you need!





Inside - Bookmark style paper strips, 1 ½ x 5” will be used to jot down simple items such as: a favorite book, toy, the headline news of the day, etc. And, just as important, adding the DATE to the bottom of each paper strip. So often when my girls were little, I failed to do this, thinking I would always remember and jot down that special memory and date later. The word DATE is 25pt Times New Roman, stamped with Adirondack espresso ink. To get the new Mom started, I computer generated some starting point ideas onto crème cardstock, cut, and glued onto memory paper strips.
Match boxes – What terrific little holders that easily fit inside the memory capsule! I used every inch of the Cosmo paper and covered the outer slider, and box ends. The matching adhesive die cuts make these adorable, simple, and oh, so quick. Again, stamping in 25pt. Times New Roman font onto cream cardstock, I created a purpose for each box. There is a Tooth Fairy, a Treasure, and a First Haircut box so far. The stamped cardstock lines the inside bottom slider. There is plenty of room to add more matching boxes as well as more memory paper strips.
I hope our daughter and Kaylub enjoy their Memory Capsule! Created with love: a collection of precious moments and times, handwritten on memory paper strips, easily accessible, all sitting on his nursery bookcase! It doesn’t get much better than that!

CHA Sneak Peek- Just a Little Caffeine

Tonight we are revealing a new new size Wooden Stamper - a 2" round. You are gonna love everything that you can do with this wooden stamper. It is our most versatile design ever!!

1. the Rim is designed to fit our new 15 point font as well as our existing 6 pt font.(small letter font)

2. The rubber grid of this new stamp has a fun new configuration. It has been designed so that it will accept all your 1 5/8" designer centers and borders. Now I am sure you are wondering how that is possible. Well it's simple the rubber grid on this block has two unique borders which you can use. Imagine the grid on your 1 5/8" stamper with an extra border added. You will now be able to write in 15 point font around the outside of your existing 1 5/8" borders and centers. Or you can use just the 1 5/8" designer center and omit the 1/5/8" border ( this just gives you a nice symetrical break in your design) and then you can write on the outside border. We would love to show you a project made with this block...or show you the actual block....but our samples don't arrive for another two days. We just couldn't wait for you to hear about this new design.

3. It also works like a traditional JustRite Wooden block and has it's own 2" designer centers and borders. So it can be used like any of our existing blocks. With a 2" designer center and 2" interchangeable border. Or you can use it with a 2" designer center and design your own personal message using our new new fifteen point font.

4. To make purchasing this new item easy, the block will be sold with the New 15 point Times Roman Font included. And will come with a free colorable floral designer center (Get your Copic Markers Ready).

5. This is a great new size for cardmaking!!! Can you say...gotta have it!!

Wouldn't this Coffee Travel Mug look great on your desk? Tawn was able to add her name to the coffee cup illustration by placing adhesive on a clear acrylic block and adhering her small letters to the block. The grossgrain ribbon is from Creative impressions and is a perfect match for this fun set. The paper is from Kaiser Crafts.

Barb tell us where you live. I live in, at this moment cold, snowy, west Michigan!

Tell us about your family.I have been married for 29 years and counting! We have two grown daughters and are expecting our first grandchild in a couple weeks!

How long have you been stamping? I have been stamping off and on all my life! I have always been involved in some type of craft hobby, but especially love incorporating stamping with paper crafting creations.

Where you do you do your stamping? At this time, I have turned a spare bedroom into a makeshift studio...I am taking notes on all the recent studio designs though, because my husband has promised a real studio when we move! Hopefully next year!

What is your must have stamping tool?This is a tough one...Lately, I have to have my daubers at hand, and the crop a dile, and...the list could go on and on!

H0w long have you been blogging?I have been blogging not quite a year! My family thinks this is especially interesting since the computer and I never really got along! LOL

Who are your 3 favorite designers that inspire you? I try to learn from each and every creation I look at...I feel they all have something to gain knowledge from. With that said, in no particular order, I so admire and look up to: Sharon Johnson, Debbie Olson, and Nichole Heady. I'm such a fan and learn so much each time I visit their blogs and view their work. Could you imagine working alongside them, all in the same room? A girl can dream!

Currently who is your favorite Paper Company? Currently, I reach for my new K & Company paper quite a bit, and I especially love Papertreyink's card stock and patterned papers.

Tell us besides JustRite, what are you currently addicted to??
Hmmm...probably ribbon, not that I use it a whole lot, I just collect it! And adhesive pearls!

What is your favorite paper crafting season and why.
We're blessed in Michigan to experience all four seasons, but fall is probably my favorite. I was married in the fall, I love the trees when the colors change, the fruit of the harvest, fall does not last long enough for me! The colors fall produces are gorgeous; all the variances of greens, oranges, yellows, and purples of the season are a terrific palette to choose from when stamping!

What die did you use?

AccuCut Dies:
GrandeMARK Roller Die Cutting System
A7 Apron Invite (3-D) Crease Jumbo

The die we used to make the Apron Tote is from AccuCuts - the die needs to be used in conjunction with an AccuCut die cutting system- The die measures 9 1/2" x 11 3/4". For this design we used only the top of the die (it comes with a pocket). The tote stands 7" tall and the box can be adjusted to fit the contents. Our bases vary from 2" wide to 3" wide. The BBQ King Tote holds 2 full bottles of kitchen spices.

This is the same die that we used to create our Christmas Cookie Swap book as well as our Recipe Apron.

CHA Sneak Peek Day 3 ---What's Cookin'

Today we are revealing our 1 5/8" What's Cookin' Stamp Set!!

The pink area of the image denotes the border and the white area is the center.

What better way to show you this great new set than to show you the the Make-it/Take-it we will be teaching with this set at CHA. We call it our JustRite Apron Tote Box.

The Apron Tote box is created by diecutting two AccuCut Aprons and adhering them to a box that you create using a Scor-it Board. The box is the perfect size to hold lots of treats.

This set has colorable images and fun graphics.
And the possibilities for variations of this apron design are endless.

We love this set and you will to...this set includes the stamped image from our Christmas Cookbook from Day One. If your wheels are turning with the possibilities for this fun box wait til you see this next Apron....

We filled this Apron Tote Box with Barbeque Spices and wrote on the rim of our 1 5/8" stamper with our next introduction!!! 15 point Times New Roman Font. We know everyone loves their 6 point small letter set...but even we admit it is very tiny and hard to see if you have aging eyes. So we are introducing a new size - still with one leg on the back ...and you are gonna love it!! Join us at CHA Make-it Take -it with ......

I know everyone has anxiously been waiting to find out who will be the Guest Designers helping us teach at our Booth!!! We are so excited and know you will be too!! It's your chance to meet two of our favorite designers....so without further fan fare....

JustRite Stampers is pleased to announce that Debbie Olson and Sharon Harnist will be our guest designers teaching at our booth at CHA.
